Products & Programs

McNally Industries is focused on several product segments that span all areas of Defense Department needs. They are Naval, Aerospace, and Land Combat platforms. Within those platforms, we provide full engineering services to design products, re-engineer products and manufacture fully functional systems, precision components and new product development. As McNally Industries continue to grow our services and capabilities we have also brought to bear the expertise of our sister companies and strategic partnerships to augment our capabilities and capacity to meet all customer needs.

Engineering Services:

For a number of years, McNally Industries has been in partnership with Alion Science and Technology to develop technical data packages for the US Army where technical data no longer existed. This allows the Army to competitively procure items where they previously had no avenue to do so. The team designs solutions to engineering and maintenance problems identified by Army personnel and as an outflow of that work, McNally Industries has the responsibility to produce parts from those data packages and qualify them for future manufacture.

As a part of this unique process we have manufactured and now offer to customers some unique products including tools for helicopter repair and maintenance as seen in these photos. An example is the blade clamp for the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter which allows the Army to handle helicopter blades more safely and with fewer staff than ever before.

We also re-engineered and developed full technical data packages and qualifying quantities of parts for electronic assemblies that include wiring harnesses, actuation assemblies, and several other critical projects for the military that enhance surveillance and detection system readiness.

These are just some of the many examples of products and projects where we enable the Warfighter to perform their tasks easier, quicker and safer than ever before.
Product Development:

McNally Industries' unique mix of capabilities in engineering and manufacturing, coupled with decades of experience in the commercial and defense industry, have resulted in many product offerings needed for today's sailor and soldier. Some examples include the Phalanx coolant pump that McNally designed from a performance specification for the U.S. Navy; numerous design enhancements for the ammunition handling systems for the Mk45 weapon system; and a new pump offering focused directly on the pharmaceutical and coatings industry.
Mechanical Systems: McNally provides fully functional systems which are typically a collection of hundreds of items that are manufactured, purchased and assembled and then tested to ensure they meet customer specifications prior to shipment. The Mk6 Ammunition Hoist used to load ammunition into the loader drum of the Mk45 5" gun and the cradle and ramming system used to load the Mk45 gun are examples of mechanical systems provided by McNally Industries.


Hydraulic Systems: This product segment includes McNally Industries' pumping products such as our electronic cooling pump for the Phalanx Close In Weapon System, nuclear reactor cooling, pumps for transfer and lubricating, and our specialty ground cart cooling pumps for aircraft electronics.

It also includes new product development in the area of transmission pumps for land combat vehicles as well as hydraulic power supplies for gun turrets. Another area of strength is our long history of manufacturing valve bodies (manifolds) used in hydraulic systems. This product segment builds on McNally's seven decade heritage of design engineering of Northern® pumps.

Precision Components:

Our precision components segment is comprised of difficult to manufacture items that may be made of parent materials that were castings, forgings, or bar stock. We are accustomed to manufacturing virtually all ferrous and non-ferrous materials and some composites as well. Examples of exotic materials we work with include all stainless steels, k-monel, maraging steel, and many more. Tolerances are routinely held to .0001.

McNally has long been a leader in precision machining with an emphasis on small to medium sized parts and focused on limited lot sizes. Products manufactured include components for many medium caliber weapon systems, night vision systems, power transmission systems on a wide variety of defense platforms.
