History

1942 – McNally Brothers Machine Co. was founded by James, Donald and Miles McNally to produce spare parts for military equipment to support WWII demand.
First contract with the U.S. Army to assemble mechanical fuses and later, a wide variety of defense related components and subassemblies.
1972 – Chief Engineer Al Sorenson purchases the company and changes the name to McNally Industries.
McNally Industries begins diversifying with the addition of commercial customers and products to complement its military business.
1982 – McNally Industries purchases the rights to Northern Pump® industrial pump product line from FMC, providing an entrée into the military pump market.
U.S. Navy contract to begin manufacturing nuclear reactor cooling pumps for submarines and aircraft carriers.
1983 – Albert Scheideler takes ownership of the company and steers the company to new heights by leveraging its program experience and growing capabilities in the areas of engineering, manufacturing, assembly and testing to become a military systems producer.
1987 – McNally Industries is awarded one of its most challenging and rewarding contracts to engineer and build Mk6 ammunition hoists to the U.S. Navy – a multi-story assembly that supplies large caliber projectiles to the Mk45 deck-mounted gun.

Today, McNally Industries, a portfolio company of Susquehanna Private Capital, is an essential member of the Defense Industrial Supply Base. All branches of the U.S. military, our nation’s foreign allies, and some of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies have come to rely on our engineering and manufacturing services, program management experience, and unparalleled quality and dedication to supporting our customers.
